MW Mobile Blog

For friends, family and the random search engine visitor. This blog started as an experiment in mobile blogging from my Palm TREO 600, 700, Prē, HTC Evo, Samsung 5, Pixel 3, Pixel 6 Pro. Now it serves as a simple repository of favorite activities. Expect bad golf, good fishing, great sailing, eating, drinking, adventure travel, occasional politics and anything else I find interesting along the way including, but not limited to, any of the labels listed here...

fileted, fried and finished within two hours of being caught.

Marinated in Miller High Life, coated with Costco Seafood Rub, sauteed in butter and olive oil, served with garlic brown rice and Papa's famous eggplant/tomato salad.

It was very good.

That looks delicious!

Costco can be a very convenient way to buy alot of products, but I have an issue with their seafood. They do not post the FDA warnings about mercury in seafood. Several stores (including Wild Oats, Safeway, and Whole Foods) voluntarily agreed to post the FDA’s advisories on mercury in seafood and they have had positive responses from customers and no loss in seafood sales.

But other companies like Wal-Mart, Costco, and Giant have refused to do so. At this website you can find a list of which companies care about their customers’ health enough to post this advice, as well as a list of companies that don’t. Happy shopping!

um...

I didn't buy this bass as Costco.

I caught it in Big Shag Lake, Michigan.

There were no warning labels on the fish.
