MW Mobile Blog
For friends, family and the random search engine visitor. This blog started as an experiment in mobile blogging from my Palm TREO 600, 700, Prē, HTC Evo, Samsung 5, Pixel 3, Pixel 6 Pro. Now it serves as a simple repository of favorite activities. Expect bad golf, good fishing, great sailing, eating, drinking, adventure travel, occasional politics and anything else I find interesting along the way including, but not limited to, any of the labels listed here...

Breakfast Beer Batter Blueberry Pancakes
HW left a little of Rachel's excellent secret recipe whole grain pancake mix behind, so I thought I would try my hand at a stack of pancakes. There was still one bottle of The Great Abomination found in the beer cellar leftover from last year, so with lessons learned from the fall trip, and blueberries culled from leftover Emily fruit salad, it was blueberry beer pancakes for breakfast. They actually tasted pretty darn good, but full disclosure - they did not look as good as in this picture. I finally got a couple of silver dollar sized cake to approximate a circular shape, and they went on top of the stack for this picture. The hidden cakes underneath varied in shape from amoeba-like to an approximation of scrambled eggs. Pancakes are not one of my core competencies.

Katie: "I can't believe they took up valuable cellar space with that beer." Text cannot accurately reproduce the condemnatory tone she took with her voice.
What were we supposed to do? No one would drink it. Besides, it makes for good pancakes.
It doesn't make good pancakes.
Katie is right.
